Yankee Stadium Grounds Crew Rushing To Prepare For "Fattest Team Ever"

Yesterday the Wall Street Journal broke the news that this years group of Yankees may indeed be the "fattest Yankees team ever".  On Friday morning, the stadium grounds crew was hard at work prepping the field for the incoming group of Portly Pinstripers.

"We've got to take advantage of the warm weather while we have it.", said Dan Cunningham, Head Groundskeeper for Yankee Stadium.  "We've got to get under the field and reinforce it with steel beams."

The field is not the only place that is being adjusted for the likes of Bartolo Colon, Freddy Garcia & Joba Chamberlain.  Lockers are being widened and reinforced clubhouse chairs are being brought in.

Additionally, special toilets are being flown in from Japan to handle the increased load.

I guess this gives a whole new meaning to the term "Bronx Bombers".
