The comments come amid speculation that the Mets are not only looking to shed player salary but also broadcaster salary as well.
"If I am going to be traded, obviously I want the opportunity to be the roving reporter, but if it's going to be good networks like YES or NESN, and it's going to be for two months, I can go out there and do the batting practice show if need be."
A spokesperson for SNY denied that trading Burkhardt was ever an option but did admit that the network has been considering shedding salary in an effort to find more things for Chris Carlin to do.
