Kevin Burkhardt Tells The Apple He Would Accept Trade To Yes Network

Apparently K-Rod isn't the only member of the Mets with his sights set on the Bronx.  Just hours after the Mets had taken two of three from the defending AL champs, SNY star Kevin Burkhardt told The Apple that he would be fine with a trade to the rival YES Network even if it meant a diminished role.

"If I am going to be traded, obviously I want the opportunity to be the roving reporter, but if it's going to be good networks like YES or NESN, and it's going to be for two months, I can go out there and do the batting practice show if need be."
The comments come amid speculation that the Mets are not only looking to shed player salary but also broadcaster salary as well.

A spokesperson for SNY denied that trading Burkhardt was ever an option but did admit that the network has been considering shedding salary in an effort to find more things for Chris Carlin to do.
