Mets And Marlins Set To Battle For Prestigious "Souvenir Cup" This Weekend

In hopes of generating buzz for an otherwise unwatchable three days of baseball, Major League Baseball has designated this weekend's Mets-Marlins series "The Souvenir Cup".

The winner of the series will be crowned Souvenir Cup Champions and be presented with a trophy. The "trophy" is not exactly as prestigious as the Stanley Cup as it consists of a 32 ounce plastic cup hot glued to a plastic base.

Pepsi has agreed to sponsor the award and will fill the cup with 32 ounces of the winning team's choice of sugary beverage to celebrate their victory. However, in the event the Mets win they will only be allowed 16 ounces in accordance with Mayor Michael Bloomberg's wishes.
