Wilpon Pretty Much Just Talking To Anyone Who Will Listen At This Point

Bored with the mainstream media, Mets owner Fred Wilpon is pretty much talking to anyone who will listen now.  On Wednesday he met with members of the Ecuadorian soccer team in preparation for the upcoming Ecuador Greece friendly at Citi Field.  After the meeting, he spoke to the popular Ecuadorian magazine "The Quitonian" and made some controversial statements:

"We can't even get decent countries to play soccer at Citi.  Greece and Ecuador?  Forgive me if I don't run out and buy tickets to that one.  Greece is still clinging to that whole "we invented democracy" thing and most people couldn't even find Ecuador on a map.  What does the winner get anyway? The right to play Chad for the world cup of irrelevance?
I guess it isn't all bad.  Maybe we can set the world record for most number of guys named Niko in one stadium."
