Blogger Outage Update: Notes From Last Night's Mets Win

Last night's Blogger outage kinda messed up my schedule so here's a recap of what was gonna be posted.  Carlos Beltran has a new commercial announcing himself as the face of the franchise.

Also Larry Smith had these game notes from the finale in Colorado:
  • Carlos Beltran had to be forcibly carried onto the plane taking the team from Denver to Houston.  He was heard shouting, "Light air, I want to stay here in the light air."

  • When Willie Harris singled in the 9th inning the dugout phone rang.  It was Cooperstown asking that the ball be sent there to be put on display in their "rare occurrence" room.

  • Despite some concern Fernando Martinez was successfully able to swing the weighted bat in the on-deck circle without pulling any muscles.  He survived his enitre pinch-hitting appearance but will be icing down from head to toe for a few hours as a precaution.

  • When asked what he thought of the team's defeat of Ubaldo Jimenez Justin Turner just laughed and said, "I don't even know who he is."    But then he followed that up by saying, "no really, I'm not kidding, who is he?"

  1. I experienced the same fate, went to log-in to my account, nada...great win tonight though for the Mets, FMart's bomb off the bench was a nice surprise and Wright's 2-run jack was the icing on the cake.
