Mets Unveil New Dimensions At Mr. Met's Kiddie Field, Angry Parents Thrilled
Posted by

2012 is bringing a lot of changes to the home of the Mets. Early Monday evening, the Mets unveiled the latest of change to the "littlest" ballpark in Flushing, Mr. Met's Kiddie Field. Mr. Met was on hand to personally show off the shorter more home run friendly fences at his Wiffle ball stadium. The walls are now lower and closer to home plate all the way around just like they are in the big ballpark. But according to the team, the changes are being made not only to reflect the changes to Citi Field but also to calm angry parents who blamed Kiddie Field for their children's lack of offensive production.

Mets Fans For Urinal Dividers: Join The Movement Today!
Posted by

Fans asked for shorter fences and they got them. You wanted them blue? Done! The Mets have been in a listening mood lately and yet on the issue most important to Mets fans who attend games at Citi Field the team remains shamefully silent. I am speaking of course about urinal dividers...or the lack thereof.
Why do we need urinal dividers?
A recent poll showed that a astonishing 64% of male fans who attend Mets games cannot use the urinals due to a crippling fear that someone may sneak a peek at the sausage. This leads to longer lines at stalls and people spending more time away from their seats which translates to a poor stadium atmosphere.

Mets Owner Fred Wilpon Was Inspiration For NBC Alternate Reality Drama "Awake"
Posted by
Unknown
NBC has a new show airing on Thursdays called Awake. The premise being that the main character can not tell whether he is asleep or awake. He lives in two alternate realities since suffering a terrible accident. In one his son is dead, in the other, he lost his wife. This much you may know. What you may not know is that the idea for this show came from the fact that Mets primary owner Fred Wilpon has the exact same situation going on.

When Mets pitcher Tim Byrdak showed up at spring training dressed as Hulk Hogan this year, everyone had a good laugh. The laughter stopped when it was discovered Byrdak would have to start the year on the DL with a knee injury. But are the injury and the costume actually related?

David Wright's "Injury" Is Just An Excuse To Visit Shorter Fences

Mets slugger David Wright was spotted at Citi Field Monday morning checking in on the progress of the new shorter fences at the ballpark. A source inside the Mets organization confirmed that Wright's "injury" is indeed nothing more than a cover story to allow the third baseman to visit the now more hitter friendly ballpark.

Announcing The Apple's 2nd Annual Opening Day Tailgate

Attending the Mets home opener on April 5th? Why not join The Apple for my 2nd annual Opening Day Tailgate. From 9 - 12PM I'll have The Apple's WORLD FAMOUS TAILGATING SETUP (i.e. a folding table and portable grill) set up in the Citi Field parking lot.
Entertainment will be provided by a small boombox playing WFAN unless the batteries die. There will be a limited supply of burgers, hot dogs and beverages but, as always, if you wanna bring your own meat our executive chef (i.e. me in Mets apron) will be happy to cook it up for ya.
Click over to the facebook events page for more info. I'll also have my big-ass banner courtesy of buildasign.com so we should be somewhat easy to spot. I hope to see some of you there.

Opening Day is right around the corner and your #1 source for completely made up Mets news wants to send you to the Mets home opener at Citi Field. To win all you have to do is "like" The Apple and TiqIQ on Facebook. Then on the TiqIQ Facebook wall, predict the Mets batting avg. leader (minimum 50 AB's) for Spring training games played in March. Also include "The Apple" with your prediction.
For example: The Apple, David Wright, .357
As an added bonus if one of The Apple's readers wins I'll throw in a VIP tailgate experience at Citi Field before the opener. (VIP tailgate experience consists of eating a slightly burnt hot dog next to my Toyota Matrix)
Also if winning tickets sounds like too much work you can always head here for the best deals and just buy some you lazy lazy soul.
