Desperate to sell tickets the Mets released a commercial yesterday featuring Mets players talking about how much better the other team in town currently is. The spot, aimed at getting fans to buy tickets to the Subway Series, features players gushing about how great the Yankees are. Daniel Murphy even goes so far as to predict the Yanks will win all 6 games.
But won't this kind of marketing turn off hardcore Mets fans?
The Mets don't seemed concerned. "Mets fans aren't buying tickets anyway.", says a source inside the Mets ticket office. "Even if they hate the commercial nothing really changes."
