Check out each entry below and then vote on your favorite. The top vote-getter gets a Mets 50th Anniversary DVD Set and 2 runners up get a Mets 50 Greatest Players DVD. First up is a song parody of Smashmouth's All-Star by Ed Leyro

Somebody once told him he doesn't have an ulnar
The ligament that all pitchers have
It cost him a big bonus, so then he put the onus
On getting to the big leagues himself

Well, the years kept tickin', and he wasn't stickin'

He changed teams more than Wade Boggs ate chicken
Didn't make sense but he was having fun
His brain was smart and he wasn't done

So much to do, so much talent

So why couldn't he throw strike three?
The knuckler was the way to go
If he was to stay in the show

Hey now, he's an All-Star, got his game on, R.A.!

Hey now, he's a rock star, and now he's gettin' paid
All that flutters is gold
Dig those nails in and break the mold

New York's a cool place, but with him, it's just cooler

His knuckleball's floatin', it's quite the hitter fooler
But if any of them beg to differ
He'll wipe them up like a human Swiffer

The ice in his veins will never get thin

No one else used the Missouri for a swim
He won't yet retire, so come get yours
That's the way he likes it and he's ready for more

Hey now, he's an All-Star, got his game on, R.A.!

Hey now, he's a rock star, and now he's gettin' paid
All that flutters is gold
Dig those nails in and break the mold

Hey now, he's an All-Star, got his game on, R.A.!

Hey now, he's a rock star, and now he's gettin' paid
All that flutters is gold
He's a knuckle-star...

Somebody once asked if he'd throw a hitter gas

He said "I do when they lean over the plate"
They said "Yep.  I can accept
That you'd want the inner half for yourself
Or else you'd get hit all over the pla-a-a-a-ace."

Well, the years stopped tickin', and now he's stickin'

He not changing teams, but Boggs still eats chicken
Now it makes sense; he's still having fun
His brain's still smart; he still isn't done

So much to do, so much talent

Now he can't stop throwing strike three
The knuckler was the way to go
Now he's a fixture in the show!

Hey now, he's an All-Star, got his game on, R.A.!

Hey now, he's a rock star, and now he's gettin' paid
All that flutters is gold
Dig those nails in and break the mold

All that flutters is gold

Dig those nails in and break the mold...

Next is a poem from Kyle Paul titled "A Butterfly Against The Wind"

Kyle also made a music video which you can see here:

Metman719 came up with a parody of the song Drive By by Train:

Verse 1

New York Mets here's a story for you
past years the mets ait so good
I guess that's deja vu
cuz we lost this year too
We know they tried  the rest
A no hitter was the best
Theses  games are more than just a test

Pre-Chorus
Oh but just one guy
Who will always try
Watch as his pitches fly
he was quite a buy
Dickey is his name aiming for that hall of fame
His 20 wins got us forth place

Chours

Oh We swear to you 43 will come for you
His one hitters made him sh-ine who oh-oh
Not just a pitcher but a pretty decent hitter
he knows that you'll find he will win Cy Yong
NL east admires his picting is on fire
Fast ball is contagions curve ball is outrageous

Oh We swear to you 43 will come for you
He wears that blue and orange with pri-i-i--i-de

Pete McNally sent in a limerick:

There once was a knuckler named Dickey,
Who threw a slow pitch that was tricky,

Batters swung and they missed,

Now they surely were pissed,
If he don't win Cy Young, they can lick me!

Here's a "Hey Mickey" Parody by Tom Kosmic

Oh Dickey, you're so fine
You're so fine, you got the Cy, hey Dickey, hey Dickey
Oh Dickey, you're so fine
You're so fine, you got the Cy, hey Dickey, hey Dickey
Oh Dickey, you're so fine
You're so fine, you got the Cy, hey Dickey...

Hey Dickey
You’re on the mound all night, the fans they come in throngs.
No matter what the pitch, the batter’s guessing wrong.
When you have a good night, knuckle loop-de-loops home, Dickey

The knuckle floats around, it makes ‘em looks like fools
You're givin' me the chills, Dickey, we’re hoping that you’ll
Pitch right here at Citi ‘till your career’s done, Dickey

Oh Dickey, here at Citi, you don't understand
You got us by the heart when the batters all get fanned.
Oh Dickey, you're so gritty, can't you understand
We need you here, Dickey
Ooh what you do Dickey, do Dickey
Don't break our hearts, Dickey

Hey Dickey
The crowd they all go WOOOO every time you throw
Whenever you’re pitchin’ we get a great show
You gotta stay right here, so please don’t go Dickey

So come on Sandy gotta keep him here anyway you can
However many years, he’s the rotation’s front man
Oh please Sandy, please, don't leave us in this jam Sandy

Oh Dickey, here at Citi, you don't understand
You got us by the heart when the batters all get fanned.
Oh Dickey, you're so gritty, can't you understand
We need you here, Dickey
Ooh what you do Dickey, do Dickey
Don't break our hearts, Dickey

A Cy Young Story By Sean Sullivan aka @spsully712

A Cy Young Story

Do not give up without a fight
RA Dickey lives his life with way
He throws the knuckle with all his might
He knows how to hold the ball just right
He will take the mound and he’ll say
Do not give up without a fight
Hes got the best beard in sight
Think you know more Star Wars? No Way
He throws the knuckle with all his might
In 2012 his star shone bright
Even with a lineup starring Jason Bay
Do not give up without a fight
When he’s on the mound he gives batters a fright
“Give him the Cy Young “ we all pray
Do not give up without a fight
He throws the knuckle with all his might

And finally some Dickey Motivational Art by Dave Stark
