The Mets front office spent a large portion of the off day Monday contemplating how they were going to replace Willie Harris. As it turned out they didn't have to. Reports surfaced on Monday that late Sunday night, the Mets "outfielder" was abducted by aliens but late Monday night Harris phoned Mets GM Sandy Alderson to let him know he would be available Tuesday.

Superstitious Mets Finding Success By Avoiding All Things Willie Harris
Posted by
Randy Medina
Sometimes you go looking for stories and sometimes they just find you. The other day I was standing around in the Mets' locker room shooting the breeze with Angel Pagan. Angel was explaining to me the small changes he's made in his approach that has him hitting so well now after such a rough start to his season.
As he was talking I noticed a few Mets coming out of the training room and taking a circuitous path back to their respective lockers. It looked like they were consciously veering around a particular locker almost as if there was one of those invisible dog fences around it.

You're Killing Me Smalls: 3 Mets Battle For Title Of Worst On The Team
Posted by

When I was a young lad there were three CF’ers in New York and they were all great ballplayers.
The Yankees had Mickey Mantle, the Giants had Willie Mays, and the Dodgers had Duke Snider.
Fan delighted in arguing which of the three was best although Dodger fans tended to admit that their guy was probably #3.
And now in the next millenium a new trio is sparking a somewhat different argument. The question now being debated is “Who is the worst player on the Mets’ bench?”
You know them. They’ve been called the “Horrible H’s” and other things that don’t belong in a family blog.
Let’s make the case for each and then we’ll let you, the loyal reader, decide who truly is the worst bench player of the three.

Fresh Off Hot Start Willie Harris Dumps Agent, Signs With Scott Boras
Posted by
Randy Medina
The Mets signed free agent Willie Harris to a one year $800,000 contract to be a role player off the bench. Harris has mostly played outfield the last couple of years but can also handle 2B and 3B.
Opening weekend went well for the veteran. He went 4 for 10 including 2 doubles and a HR. Based on that he fired his agent and signed on with Uber Mega Agent-to-the-stars Scott Boras.
