Move Over Moneyball, Mets GM Invents Dinnerball

The Mets, the masters of looking like they're ready to do SOMETHING and never really doing anything, have topped themselves recently. Perhaps they fell into this by design or maybe it was just dumb luck. In any case it has evolved into a plan that will go into high gear next off-season.

The internet is buzzing over the fact that recently Sandy Alderson had a dinner with super-agent Scott Boras and one of his high profile clients, OFer Michael Bourn.

Now we serious Mets fans know that there is no way in H-E double hockey sticks that the Mets are going to shell out big big bucks for a free agent outfielder. They'll have one of their classic excuses at the ready.  Here are just some of them.

Yes it's a joke we all some coming a mile away but when it's executed this well it doesn't matter.  By far the best line has to be "What is happening in New York? Spending all that money is miraculously working out for them!". I hear Art Howe is not happy about how he was portrayed in this movie either.

10 Warning Signs You Are Watching A Bootlegged Copy Of Moneyball

This weekend I took in a screening of Moneyball.  While the film received positive reviews from any reviewer not named Art Howe, I found the whole thing confusing.  Some scenes seemed completely out of context and there were many strange editing and wardrobe choices. It was almost as if it had been pieced together with scenes from other movies. I found the movie to be so unwatchable that I stopped my DVD player and went onto the internet to do some research.

After some investigation, I concluded that I was watching a bootlegged version of the film from Japan.  I decided to shut off the TV and go see the film in an actual theater.  Turns out it was a very entertaining film and much better than the version I was watching.
