Celebrity Nick Cannon was on a mission yesterday to
break the world record for most hugs in one hour. In order to do it he was going to need an area where lots of people were already gathered so a New York baseball game seemed like an obvious choice. Surely he'd get the 1,750 needed to beat the record at an event like this.
Unfortunately for Mr.
Carey Cannon, he chose a late season Mets game against the Brewers. While several hundred fans did show up to hug the celebrity, the fact that no one showed up to watch the game dealt a fatal blow to his record breaking hopes.
Cannon hugged security guards, vendors & even players but it wasn't enough as he ended the day some 1,365 hugs shy of the record.
On the field, the Mets didn't seem to mind the lack of a crowd and went about their business of being dispatched by the Brewers 6-1.
